Updated1monthlater - my 3rd visit for fillings and impressions and absolutely no complaints. .. Dr. Uhazie even took the time to explain how it all works just to help me be more comfortable while he worked.
Easily , my best experience at a dentist. Painless, and that's saying a lot because i had three teeth removed. Everyone was curtious and professional. They even accept U.P.H.P of Michigan. The only reason i had to go back is because i caused a dry socket. They got me in twice in a week just so i could have it packed to avoid the pain. Again, it was my fault not his. They bend over backwards to make u comfortable. In fact,im going to switch my three children to Dr. Uhazie because i personally know how professional they are.
I find the first review of him to be an overdramatized complaint from someone who obviously has other issues than a bad dentist. My high medical standards were met and exceeded by him and his office.
I went to Dr. Uhazie for fillings on the left side of my mouth. His staff was friendly and professional. The dental work itself however was a nightmare. I asked repeatedly for more anesthetic, but was given none the first time, and the second only a slight improvement in the pain. I felt EVERYTHING as they drilled and filled. They were not gentle, ramming around in my mouth, making my gums bleed and bruising my cheek. I cried in the chair and clenched my fists, yet nothing was done to ease my discomfort.
It has been a year since my dental work at Dr. Uhazie's office. I am unable to chew on the left side of my mouth. Cold air is extremely painful, even when my cheek is cold the teeth hurt. Hot, cold, warm, anything touching my teeth hurts. Sometimes they'll start to ache for no reason at all, the pain reaching up into my upper and lower jaw. Often they'll hurt when I brush my teeth. NONE of this happened before I had my dental work. Despite my damaged teeth, I had never been in this kind of pain and discomfort before.
UPDATE: I have since visited a new dentist, and was informed my dental work was done incorrectly. I now have to have all of my fillings removed and re-done. I have met others who face the same problem from this dental office. Their dental work must also be re-done. Please consider your options before booking with this dental practitioner.
I hoped that would be the end of it. It wasn't. For a solid two weeks afterwards I cried, couldn't sleep, and couldn't open my mouth without the air touching my teeth and making me feel as though I'd pass out from the sharp shock of pain and continuous aching. But still, I was hopeful that would be the end of it.
I would have rather dealt with my cavities and tooth problems every day than have had made the mistake of going to this office. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone. Do your research before putting your comfort in someone else's hands.
